Day 5
Day five into the August WriMo and I’m starting to get back on track. This morning with a cup of coffee (something I hadn’t started drinking until this week
) I started writing, and had to take a break around lunch to make food and got distracted reading about Nietzsche (who I stole a title or two from for last November’s WriMo). By the way, I apparently can’t cook skewers in the oven. How sad is that? I can whip up a stir fry to satisfy the worst Asian hater, and bake the best cookies known to man… but I can’t cook simple chicken skewers? What’s wrong with me?
I’m getting off topic. That’s what’s wrong.
Anyhoo, I took a break in the afternoon after talking with Patti (aka AL) about some things, and resumed sometime after dinner. Me and Sneddy had two write-offs, which really helped me focus on writing the words themselves. I’m proud to say that I’m almost caught up with my word goal for the month (fairly easy to keep track of at 30,000, at 1000 a day). I have to catch up and surpass for this weekend though since I’ve got dental surgery scheduled for Saturday, and I honestly don’t know if I’ll be better buy Sunday, Monday, etc, to resume writing.
(note a lapse of about five to ten minutes between writing on this blog)
This is due to the insistence of Little Sister that there was a “bug” that our oldest/biggest dog Rowdy needed to “get”. I have now been completely distracted from the point of what I was going to say, but let us see if I can remember it.
Oh yes, uber drama today, thankfully though I was more or less on the sidelines of it. Not that it was good for the people in the thick of it… but… nevermind.
Anyway, I’ve managed to get my wordcount up, hopefully to a point that I can catch up with 6000 tomorrow. I managed to get past a major hurdle in the story I’m trying to finish up that I’d been hung up on for a while. Now I can move on to more fun things (like possessed pairs of pants attacking Air Force Majors… among other things), and hopefully finish it up. When/if I get there (some days I believe this thing will take the whole 30K to get finished), I’ve got two other options to finish out the word goal on. One is last November’s WriMo (poor, abandoned 65-page WriMo), and the other one is a POV story, that’s also SGA.
You know, I started out thinking I was going to be working on one of my originals, but somehow I got dragged back into these stories. That’s okay though, I really want to finish them.
Me and Sneddy also discussed combining our literary efforts to possibly make great stories, combining the best of Adam and Candy… or maybe we’ll flop. But it was fun to think about.
By the way DD… the link didn’t work

I just clicked on it and it worked for me. It WAS a bit slow in uploading, but it was there in all it’s flapper glory. It’s registered in the name of my alias Delia Deleest
